Description
Semi Abstract Painting Workshop ( Acrylics) – Saturday 10th May
A Semi-Abstract Painting Workshop is an engaging and creative experience designed to help participants explore the balance between realism and abstraction in their artwork. This workshop encourages both beginners and experienced artists to break free from strict representation while maintaining some recognizable elements in their compositions.
This Semi-Abstract Painting Workshop is designed for artists of all levels who want to explore expressive techniques while maintaining some recognizable elements in their work. Participants will bring their own reference image—whether a landscape, portrait, still life, or other subject—and learn how to transform it into a compelling semi-abstract composition.
What to Expect in the Workshop:
- Introduction to Semi-Abstract Art: Understanding how artists blend realistic forms with abstract elements, using inspiration from nature, objects, or figures.
- Exploring Techniques & Materials: Participants experiment with a mix of traditional and modern painting techniques using acrylics.
- Composition & Colour Theory: Learning how to use bold colours, expressive brushstrokes, and layering to create depth and interest.
- Guided Creative Exercises: Structured prompts to help loosen up and embrace spontaneity while maintaining intentional focal points.
- Personal Expression: Encouraging each participant to develop their own visual language, playing with abstraction to evoke emotion and mood.
- Final Artwork & Group Reflection: Time to complete a semi-abstract piece with supportive feedback.
This workshop is perfect for those who want to break away from realism but still maintain some recognizable elements, creating dynamic and expressive paintings full of movement and energy. Would you like a tailored description for a specific audience, such as beginners, children, or professionals?
