Payment

Art Workshop fees must be paid in full at the time of booking .

Confirmation of course

Once we have received a paid booking, you will receive confirmation via email.

You will receive a receipt once payment has been processed, prior to the start of the workshop.

You will be contacted with details of anything in particular you need to bring.

Art workshops are only valid for the named individual on the booking form, and are not transferable to another party.

Venue

All courses take place at our Mill Lane Studio unless otherwise stated. Times, dates and fees are listed with the rest of the course information.

Credit Note & Welcome Letters

Vouchers available for all art workshops.

Vouchers are non refundable and are valid for three months from date of purchase.

Vouchers are only valid for the named individual on the voucher, and are not transferable to another party.

Changing dates or postponing a course by Affordable Studio Art

In rare circumstances we may need to change the start date or substitute one of the dates of a course.

We will endeavour to give as much notice as possible.

We regret that we are unable to offer a refund if one of the dates has to be changed during the course.

We will be able to offer you an alternative course subject to availability.

If a class is postponed for reasons for which we are responsible, eg illness, we will try to reschedule your class to make up the missing hours.

Cancellations by us

Our workshops all have a minimum attendance levels, in rare cases where we do not receive sufficient numbers to run the workshop it will be duly cancelled.

Affordable studio art reserves the right to make changes to the art program as may be necessary for reasons of quality,  efficiency or circumstances beyond our control.

If a course is cancelled, all participants will be notified and payments refunded in full. Refunds of fees will normally only be made when a course is cancelled by us.

Cancellations by you

If you wish to cancel your place on a course we request that you notify up to fourteen days prior to the start of the course or workshop.

If we have not received your cancellation within fourteen days prior to the course start date you will not be entitled to a refund.

If we do receive cancellation within the timescale you are entitled to a refund minus any £30 administration charge.

Deposits given on any course or workshop are non refundable.

Cancellation due to bad weather 

We are unable to offer refunds if a workshop date is cancelled due to bad weather conditions.

However will endeavour to residual any dates effected.

 Public Holidays and School Half-Term

There are possibly classes on Bank Holidays, and courses do NOT stop for school half – term holidays, please ensure you take this into consideration before booking your art workshop.

Wheelchair facilities and Mobility

Please contact us if you have mobility issues, many of our workshops are practical and physical in nature.

Additional support

Please note that it is not possible for Affordable studio art to provide additional support. It is the responsibility of applicants to make their own arrangements for additional support before applying for a workshop, and be aware that such support will be charged at the course fee rate.

Age restrictions

Art workshop are available to anyone over the age of sixteen years unless otherwise stated.

Protective clothing and good workshop practice

It is the responsibility of students to provide their own protective clothing, including aprons, protective hand gloves and appropriate foot ware.

Students are expected to clean and leave equipment and work surfaces in good order, this is not the role of the tutor. Food and drink -It is not appropriate in some cases for such items to be consumed in the studio; this is at the discretion of the tutor.

No alcoholic drinks are to be consumed on the premises without permission of the tutor. Affordable Studio Art holds a risk assessment policy for staff and students which is in line with the current Health and Safety Executive recommendations.

All students are requested to complete an Affordable Studio Art Accident Waiver and Release of Liability Form.

We reserve the right

To request persons to leave the premises for any unsociable, threatening or intimidating behaviour directed towards staff, students or members of the public. Also, if course members do not adhere to issues concerning health and safety and safe working practices they will be asked to vacate the premises. Losses of equipment, unaccounted stock and breakages are the responsibility of the person/persons who have used them, unless such items have become broken, deemed unusable and the tutor is made aware of the issue. Responsibility for personal items is that of the owner.

Affordable Studio Art has public liability and business insurance.

Affordable studio art is not responsible for any personal items or clothing, nor will be responsible for damaged or defaced artwork . No items can be stored for students for more than the duration of each coursework session. Affordable studio art withholds the right to dispose of any items left, discarded or not collected after a reasonable period of time.

 Goods & Commissions ( Art Work) – including deliveries and freight charges.

When commissions are accepted, agreed  by both parties and a contract signed, a non refundable deposit of 25% must be placed prior to any works being commenced. The deposit is non-refundable because a period of purchasing of materials, modelling of Marquette’s, printing of resources will have commenced.

All commissions are produced in strict order agreed at the point of the signed contract. Due to the complexity of the works produced and availability of materials exact completion dates will not be offered, any time scales cannot be guaranteed. Any alterations to a commission further to the first consultation will hold an additional charge to the initial agreed purchase price. Works will not be released until the full purchase price has been paid in full. Sculpture Commission work must be collected in person and cannot be forwarded by freight. Any other  postal arrangements, carriage charges and insurances are the responsibility of the commissioner or purchaser, not Affordable Studio Art.
