“My life is richer due to the experience at affordable studio art.”
This was the first time ever that I had attended a sculpture course,Sue and Peter were amazing, so encouraging and their knowledge and expertise during the course was invaluable. The end result was a more confident me and a fantastic hare sculpture to have for life! Go along, you’ll love it!!

“I am addicted!”Since I walked in the door I was hooked! Not only for the chocy biscuits and a great cuppa but more so for the patience, fun and inspiration offered by Sue & Pete. This team could not be more welcoming into their business, I am on my third course and not only are they there for the amazing courses, but I pop in for a cuppa when passing too.
Small and initmated, I am on my third class now and have created some slightly bizarre clay sculptures. If you are nervous about your abilities or about trying something for the first time, don’t be. Sue and Pete will guide you through every step and encourage you along the way. I am constantly amazed at the talent between these two.
Any course is guaranted for a fun friendly atmosphere where you can let your artistic mind wander under excellent tuition. See you there and if you are lucky you may even meet Dexter!

Drawing with a professional model is great experience but local opportunities are limited. So I was pleased to join a new class in February, which offered over 1 month, 4 tutored sessions with all equipment provided. We started with basic techniques and working with charcoal gradually built up our skills. The group was small and friendly. Pete and Sue, the tutors, were incredibly helpful and encouraging so we grew more confident week by week. Advice was carefully individualized and I was pleased to see a significant improvement in my work during the course. I’m definitely joining again.

“|Art and Therapy” I have now done four courses with Sue and Pete at Affordable Studio Art. Two watercolour courses, Painting and Drawing and Botanical watercolour. I have enjoyed them all very much. I find it so relaxing and very therapeutic. Times flies and I feel really pleased with what I’ve achieved. I have always wanted to do some watercolour painting but since school days, I have never had time to sit down and concentrate on something so enjoyable. Sue and Pete are great teachers, very enthusiastic and encouraging. The studio has a friendly atmosphere and we always get offered hot drinks and biscuits! I would say to anyone who wants to give this a go, just get yourself on a course and you won’t regret it. I look forward to doing more later this year. Thank you to Sue and Pete for such a lovely experience. Visited May 2014

Had a fabulous 4 hour collagraphy workshop here yesterday with Sue and Peter who are really lovely people and I can’t wait to collect my prints when they are dry.

Just completed a 3 part watercolour course – it was brilliant! Sue was a fantastic teacher, learned such a lot and she’s given me much more confidence to keep on practising! Thank you.

I’ve just finished a watercolour course with Sue & Peter – three Saturdays in a row. What a fabulous experience !! A friendly group of just four people, of all levels, we learnt so much and I’ve so enjoyed putting it all into practice. Sue is a wonderful teacher – great at explaining, always willing to adapt what she does to suit us. I can’t wait to book another three sessions !

Just back from a really good day with Pete and Sue, it was taster session for printing. Quite tricky for beginners, but they were very patient and explained the process well. There were three of us in the group, and I went home with finished work, very pleased with the result. It has encouraged me to keep  printing…

A lovely shop (I haven’t done a course there) with a wide variety of art for sale at reasonable prices. There’s something for everyone, and Sue and Pete, the owners, are as friendly and helpful as can be. Acrylics, prints, photos, 3D work, cards and other small items are available, and there is plenty of art for you to mount and frame to your own taste. Call in, you won’t regret it!

Fantastic studio. Pete and sue have created a haven of peace and creativity by the riverside. I am doing the sculpture course. They are so inspiring and it is simply the highlight of my week. I recommend this to any one, a passer-by, a beginner or an artist……….

My daughter and I attended a truly personal art experience together. We achieved very different personal results with the fabulous Peter and Sue team guiding us and who consistently go the extra mile. They really want you to grow as individuals. A very comfortable, fun and exciting environment to learn and have a go without feeling you are going to be a fool!. We loved it and will be back for more!!! Thanks to the truly lovely Peter and Sue.

Very impressed with this small studio. In fact, was so impressed with a one-off poster (with a provenance!) of David Bowie that a couple of days after I returned home I rang up and negotiated a price to buy it – a real ‘art attack’! My sister-in-law who lives in Dorset is picking it up for me! Very excited about this. Although small, this is a good studio to peruse. You’ll find available (and, as the name says, affordable) art to suit most of our pockets (Charles Saatchi excluded!). They also do some great ‘classes’. One which particularly struck me and which I recommended to a florist friend who has recently retired and moved to the area is the making of paper flowers. The cost of the class was pretty minimal – I might be wrong but think it was £30. The studio is well worth a visit and WGimbxorne is a pretty town plus you have the Minstser.

I attended an evening course a few months ago making paper flowers and thoroughly enjoyed it. I could have happily carried on for a few more hours as the time went by so quickly. It was a small, friendly class and tuition was great. Also supplied with free hot drinks. I would also book on some other classes in the future.

I’m not really an artist but have a driving need to express myself through art. Peter and Sue were very enthusiastic and let me try all sorts of media and techniques. They were very generous in their time and materials and really helped me build my confidence. Many times I would have stopped the piece I was working on and thrown it away, but with perseverance and Sue’s infectious encouragement I discovered how to develop a bit of art to a conclusion. I’ve even hung one or two of my first efforts around the house. I’ll certainly be taking more courses.

I signed up for two courses and loved every minute of both. I also discovered very knowledgeable and wonderfully patient teachers both with a great sense of humour and surprise , surprise I learnt an amazing amount about painting, drawing and sculpting, so much so that I’ve returned for further tuition with the painting and drawing………. can’t wait for Friday mornings now and I didn’t think I could even draw a straight line!

I had a super day’s printmaking course and learnt such a lot. It has given me the incentive to get on and do a lot more. Peter and Sue are very friendly and have a really wide knowledge of a great many areas of art, and loads of enthusiasm which is quite contagious. Highly recommended. I hope to go back for another course (putting my money where my mouth is).

Really fantastic place with loads going on and fully of great pieces of Art, Love all the sculpture work that they have and have enroled on a sculpture course, looking forward to starting and creating a work of art myself. Anyone in Wimborne should check it out!
