Course Details

Each session is linked through a progression of activities to both encourage, stimulate the student to broaden their aspirations within their own work.

Session 1. Using pencil and charcoal and the use of  appropriate materials.

We will develop and extend our skills in tone, line and mark making. An excellent opportunity to broaden ones knowledge to support sketchbooks and to extend opportunities for future paintings and artwork.  The subject for this session is Fruits.

Session 2. The understanding and application of Acrylics and Watercolour  together with  appropriate materials needed.

After extending our knowledge of tone and texture in Session 1, we are now fully equipped with the confidence to apply paint to develop a broad variety of techniques. The aim of this session is to learn how to apply paints in a painting.

Session 3. Ink applications and techniques.

This challenging medium whilst being both analytical and extremely expressive, enables us to explore a variety of subjects including for this session – landscapes. By applying waterproof inks with a dip pen, you can explore colour washes and applications of exciting textures.

All equipment and materials are proved, including easels.  If you would like a table easel, please let us know in advance.

Complementary teas & coffees are available.
